WiFi Tech Talk is a blog the covers various topics related to wireless internet, WiFi and routers. Really, it’s a hodgepodge of tech-and-consumer-focused content that touches on hardware and software used in the general wireless internet industry. Some of the content is strictly for non-technical home users whereas other topics cover more-advanced subjects that are better-suited for WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) technicians or people who like to tinker and explore. Which, I am both the former and the latter.
I do not claim to be an expert in wireless, although I have an extensive technical background (self-taught programmer, operating websites since 2002) and mostly enjoy the troubleshooting process that goes into identifying and fixing the problems that come up within wireless networks. I’ve been working hands-on in the wireless internet industry since 2014.
I work for a small-town WISP that provides internet services to rural areas, primarily. This blog isn’t about them, though, rather it’s my thoughts on problems I see in the field, in peoples’ homes and solutions for those problems.
